I am Szabolcs Szabadfi, though most people know me as Szabi, the Baker—one of Hungary’s most renowned artisan bakers. My passion lies in preserving traditional baking techniques, with a special focus on the art of sourdough.
I started my bakery business with the goal of offering high-quality, additive-free products made from the finest ingredients while also promoting traditional bread-making practices. My love for pizza began as a hobby but soon led me to compete in world championships.
I have proudly won the “Best Pizza Maker in Hungary” award five times, which also inspired me to open my own pizzerias. I actively work in my bakery every day because, even after 38 years, baking still relaxes and fulfills me. Throughout my career, I have shared my knowledge with many people through workshops and demonstrations. My mission is to encourage others to embrace artisan baking and to raise awareness of the importance of using local ingredients.
