HOLDVÖLGY started off as a heart-felt gesture, a birthday gift of vineyard from owner’s mother to her husband. The owner was entrusted by his mother to find vines in Tokaj region, where his father had been born. During the course of his search he became enthralled by its potential and uniqueness. In the end he acquired 27ha of vines in the Mád basin, all parcels lying in originally classified Crus. The keys to quality are an acute understanding of each different parcel, hand-tending and harvesting the grapes and berries, and a careful parcel by parcel selection.
